My Current Favourite Lip Products
Lipsticks never really used to be my thing, I always got the most excited about eyeshadows palettes and doing different looks with my eyes. But recently, when I want to buy some new make-up, I've been all about lip products. My current favourites are definitely leaning more towards Spring vibes; I've been really loving different shades of pink.
I have two really stand-out favourites that I wanted to review, but honourable mention has to go to another couple of products that have been in rotation in my make-up bag. First up, the Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in 01 Rose has been a staple favourite for nearly a year now. This is the perfect lip product for minimal make-up days, or if you're just in a rush out and about. You can swipe it on without thinking about it, it moisturises your lips and leaves a gorgeous pinky tint.
Another recent favourite has been the NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Cheesecake. For someone who isn't usually a fan of lipgloss this really is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I'm totally in love with this dark pink colour. Also, the consistency isn't too sticky, something that fills me with dread when it comes to lipgloss. Trying out more NYX lip products is definitely something I want to do this Spring.
Moving on to the main event, my real stand-out favourites. If you watch my vlogs you'll already know that I've barely had anything else on my lips recently but this Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Valentine. For me it's just the perfect mix of nude and pink; not too brown toned but not to barbie-doll pastel pink. It's such a pretty every day colour and I can totally see this sticking with me way into the Spring and Summer this year. I use the Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk underneath this and they pair perfectly together and last really well throughout the day.
Another recent purchase that is in competition with Valentine for most-worn Lipstick right now is this beauty from Dior; the Dior Addict Lipstick in Dior Kiss. I know it looks like I've barely used it, and honestly I'm surprised how long that CD has managed to last too. This looks super-bright but actually transfers as quite subtle on the lips. It's a fairly sheer formula but you can build up the colour a little if you want. One of the main things I love about this lipstick is how moisturising it is, it feels more like a balm when you wear it, however the downside to this is that it doesn't last nearly as long as the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick. This is definitely one that you have to take with you and re-apply, because pretty much as soon as you eat something your lipstick is going to transfer onto everything else and leave you with not a lot on left on your lips. But if you're okay with re-applying and sometimes find long-wearing lipsticks super drying, the colour is totally gorgeous and let's also take a minute for that packaging!
