I haven't done a make-up related blog post in such a long time. My blog used to be entirely beauty based back in the day, and when I decided to make the switch to doing lifestyle posts I feel like I just totally moved away from talking about make-up in my blog posts. But I've got my everyday routine down recently and I love every product I use to do my face these days, so I thought it was about time I shared it with you. I don't do anything particularly fancy, this is just my day-to-day routine that is fail-safe and I can chuck on in fifteen minutes before heading to the office.
Following directly on from Skincare routine, which I did a post about right here, I start my routine by applying Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. I know this a very popular choice, so I won't go on too long, but I do want to say that this is my third bottle and I have no gripes with it. It's medium coverage, not much that's sheer about it, so if you like some coverage don't let the name put you off. The finish is really flattering and it sits nicely on the skin throughout the day. Can't beat it as far as I'm concerned.
Next up I like to use an under eye corrector to banish those dark circles. Until fairly recently I was using the Bobbi Brown Corrector, but I've now switched to the Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector and I think I prefer it. The consistency doesn't crease as easily under the eyes and it feel just a little lighter, whilst still packing enough punch to cover up a bad night of sleep. For concealer I follow up with the Nars Creamy Concealer, also a popular choice, and one that I really enjoy using. It is especially lovely paired with Sheer Glow, the two together gives a really flawless look to the skin.
For my brows, on an everyday basis, I don't like to spend too much time so I just whip a bit of Gimme Brow through them and call it a day. I get them waxed and tinted at the Benefit Counter so they usually have a pretty good shape and colour to them, without me having to spend too much time faffing about with brow products each day.
Now to finish everything off, recently I've been using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette, which has five different powders in that complete your make-up perfectly. I go in first with the face powder and then a touch of bronzer, to define my cheekbones and warm up my complexion a little. Then I move on to blush, and using the paler tone first, swept right across my cheeks and then the brighter colour just to add a little pop of colour right on the apples of my cheeks. I finish everything up with the highlight, in the same palette, I use a fan brush and sweep highlight across the tops of my cheekbones and just under my brows.
I can usually finish everything in about fifteen minutes, basically on auto-pilot whilst I'm still half-asleep. Leave me a comment if you've tried any of the products I use, or let me know what your favourite go-to product is right now. Happy Weekend, everyone!
